Born and educated in Switzerland, Heinz has an extensive background in Global Investment Management, Corporate Finance and Financial Risk Management.  For over 30 years he has held management positions in Europe and the USA with a multi-national corporation, a private bank, an investment bank and a private financial advisory firm.  He is currently President and Principal Owner of Global Investment and Risk Advisors, LLC, a firm he formed over 8 years ago. 

Most of his career was dedicated to advising institutions and individuals on financial issues. Heinz is knowledgeable about financial instruments in all asset classes, such as equities, bonds, commodities and currencies, and is experienced with more recently developed investment instruments, including hedge funds, leveraged structured products and derivatives in many different forms.  With this experience Heinz is able to analyze any instrument offered in the market, and to determine whether such an instrument is appropriate for a given investor.

This professional expertise and experience was accumulated while working for prestigious institutions.  At GTE International in Switzerland Heinz managed the corporation’s Multi-Currency Cash Flows and Credit Exposures. At GTE’s headquarter in Connecticut he managed the Global Capital Structure and Global Currency Exposure. Later at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in New York, Heinz was in charge of their International Financial Advisory Service, advising multinational corporations and institutional investors.  At Merrill Lynch & Co, he was Global Currency Product Manager interfacing with sales and trading desk around the world, advising private clients and institutional investors.   

Heinz is a
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, adhering to the rigorous standards set by the CFP Board for competent and ethical personal financial planning. He is a former member of the International Association of Financial Engineers (IAFE), has guest lectured at the Financial Engineering Institute of the Polytechnic University in New York, and is a frequent speaker at business seminars on financial risk management and valuation of complex derivatives.  He has also successfully acted as expert witness in financial litigation cases.
